Pardon the huge size. This is The Grinder. It's called this for a good reason. It's large front teeth grind up rock and tree foliage to build. Build what? Well it's home.

This is a silent hill monster I made up myself so please don't take my idea. If you want to make one please do but credit me on it for the idea.

1: Grinders come in many colors but when they are Chicks or "Belows" they stay in the nests built in the cliff sides of silent hill's crumbled roads.
Belows are grey until they reach maturity when they molt and grow rust, flesh, olive, black, pale grey or even white feathers and scales. Grinders can only come in muted or dull colors as to blend with their surroundings.

2:Male grinders have a curved tooth known as a Bevel. This acts like a ram's horns would during mating season.

3:Males fight until a Bevel is broken and rarely ever damage or severely wounds another male.

4:The feet of a grinder have thousands of tiny little serrated tooth like spikes on their feet. This help them keep balance and climb since they have no wings to fly or nails on their toes. The toenails are chewed down to nubs and serve a way to grind down their ever growing teeth.

5:Grinders prefer to eat the leaves on trees so they climb them stripping them of all leaves. The grinder lives on a diet of both leaves and flesh.

6:A Grinder's skull has no nostrils that's why their mouth has a large gap on the sides to breathe. The skull has a hole on the bottom to allow the wind pipe to have it's own tube so when it's eating it doesn't suffocate.

7:This pouch inflates on male and female grinders. This is used to make the low bellowing sound they make to communicate. A female may inflate hers three times the size of a males. This makes a sound so low only her young can hear it.

9:The grinder has a short and stubby tail that is flat on the bottom. This tail is used as a spring to help them hop. It has a rock like scale on it protecting them from any type of material they may have to jump from.

10: If caught in the open the grinder prefers to hide rather than fight. They dig a hole and bury their tail and head in it blending with the grass or surroundings using internal camouflage.
